Branson Theater to Be Sold on Courthouse Steps

Notice of Trustee's Sale. RFD-TV The Theatre is scheduled to be sold at 1 p.m. Dec. 5.

Campbell Entertainment Group states that the Branson theater is in foreclosure proceedings and is scheduled to be sold on the Taney County Courthouse steps Dec. 5, according to a recently published legal notice.

According to the notice, RFD-TV The Theatre is scheduled to be sold at 1 p.m. Dec. 5 at the north front door of the historic courthouse building at 132 David Street in Forsyth, MO. The theater defaulted on a promissory note dated March 15, 2012.

The notice lists a trustee in Perryville, with a phone number for The Bank of Missouri. The trustee did not return a phone call by Branson Tri-Lakes News deadline.

The facility has a long history in Branson, originating as the Ray Stevens Theatre, then spending several years as Country Tonight before becoming RFD-TV The Theatre in March 2007. The theater has been largely empty recently. A website for the theater, once connected with the RFD-TV network, does not appear to work anymore.
