Retreat Behavioral Health has announced an important new partnership with the Fentanyl Awareness Coalition (FAC), an organization dedicated to addressing the increasing presence of Fentanyl in the U.S. drug supply, as well as the "New Paradigm," as they view it, and how it impacts our youth populations.

Since 2011, Retreat has upheld a strong commitment to providing its patients and surrounding communities with comprehensive substance use and mental health care. Part of this commitment involves working alongside other passionate organizations to spread awareness and serve as advocates for change.

Retreat's partnership with FAC furthers this mission, and will help address the influx of Fentanyl and Fentanyl-related overdoses across the United States by educating the public, dispelling harmful myths, and focusing time and resources on addressing structural roadblocks that hinder much-needed solutions. Both organizations share the belief that healthcare systems, in addition to parents, friends, family, and law enforcement, have an important role to play in combating this issue, and that working together is the best way to facilitate change.

As part of this new partnership, Retreat and the Fentanyl Awareness Coalition have joined forces for an event to benefit the FAC and its awareness campaigns. The event will take place June 23 from 5-9 p.m. at Retreat's Palm Beach County location, and will feature speakers and presentations on the history of opioid use, the current Fentanyl crisis, and possible solutions.

Keynote speakers for the event include the Honorable James W. "Jim" Carroll, Former White House Director of the National Drug Control Policy, and the Honorable Uttam Anthony Singh Dhillon, Former Acting Administrator of the Drug Enforcement Administration.

Other speakers include the CEO of Retreat Behavioral Health Peter Schorr and the CEO of FAC Michael Gray. The event will also include a silent auction to support FAC.

Please contact Retreat Behavioral Health for information regarding this ongoing partnership or to inquire about event information.
