Renee Zellweger, Academy Award Winning Actress, Pitches in to St. Kevin School of Warwick, Rhode Island for the Making Excellence Affordable Fund

St. Kevin School, at 39 Cathedral Road In Warwick, RI, announces that it has added $100,000 to its Making Excellence Affordable Fund, through the generous match donation of Academy Award winning actress, Renee Zellweger.
Last year, St. Kevin School in Warwick, Rhode Island, announced the formation of a new tuition scholarship fund, started with a $100,000 contribution from a St. Kevin parishioner, designed to boost enrollment by providing up to half of tuition expenses for enrolling at the School, which accepts students from Pre-K through 8th grade.
School Board President, James Lawrence, said, "That was a first step towards our goal of making St. Kevin School fully self-sustaining, and making the tremendous St. Kevin experience available to all families who value a top-notch education in a safe,
nurturing environment." With the St. Kevin School Making Excellence Affordable Fund, the School has made great strides in both enhancing the scope and excellence of its curriculum and activities, and increasing enrollment by 21%.
Ms. Zellweger will be coming to St. Kevin School to meet with the children and Staff and to present her donation to The Making Excellence Affordable Fund. Lawrence said," Our commitment to her, to the families and parishioners at St. Kevin, and to the 1 of 2 community at large, is to use this milestone to propel us towards our goals of self sustainability and affordable excellence in education.
Principal Roger Parent notes that, "At a time when many schools are cutting programs, St. Kevin School has chosen a different direction. We distinguish ourselves by continuously enhancing the quality of education and activities at St. Kevin." For instance, in September, 2010, St. Kevin School will be expanding its foreign language program, offering instruction in Spanish and French in grades K-8. New this year in the
Middle School is the Department Nights program, providing students with an opportunity to remain after school to work with a specific subject area teacher for reinforcement of concepts learned in class. A new Theater Program and The St. Kevin Chorus, under the direction of Mr. John Pare, have both been wildly successful.
