First Hispanic to make run for Margate office

If elected, Renata will be the first Hispanic Commissioner to seat on the dais in Margate

Margate, February 12, 2016:  Renata Castro, Esq. a Margate Resident, has filed to run as a candidate for Margate Commissioner Seat 2.

Renata attributes her desire to give a voice to the changing demands of Margate residents as a deciding factor when filing candidacy papers. “Margate has changed in the past 10 years, and we need to have elected officials that represent the needs of this new Margate, while tending to the needs of long-time Margate residents who have contributed so much to the growth of the community”.

Along with fresh ideas for community involvement and infrastructure, Renata’s goal is to engage dormant voters. “Margate politics have failed to excited voters to come to the pools, but that is in the past”, says Renata.

If elected, Renata will be the first Hispanic Commissioner to seat on the dais in Margate. A member of the Florida Bar, Renata graduated from the prestigious Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad School of Law. Renata also has an MBA in Project Management from Aspen University, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Universidad del Turabo . An immigration attorney, Renata who was born in Brazil, is married to Wesley Vaz, and has two children – Lucas, 11 and Sofia 2 years old.
