It's time to register for the 2012 WATER EXECUTIVE Forum (March 6-7) at www.waterexec.com. This year's meeting will be co-located at the WQA Aquatech USA conference in Las Vegas.

Registration is open for the 2012 WATER EXECUTIVE Forum slated for March 6-7 as a co-located event of the 2012 WQA Aquatech USA at the Las Vegas Convention Center. The theme of this year's forum will be "Water Business Opportunities for 2012 and Beyond".

The 2010 U.S. water business exceeded $132 billion, according to a market report in the Environmental Business Journal. Areas highlighted in that particular study included water treatment equipment, infrastructure equipment, treatment chemicals, contract operations, consulting and engineering, maintenance services, instrumentation and monitoring, analytical services, and revenues from water and wastewater utilities. Other market studies would even peg the U.S. water business at a higher number.

Among the business areas to be examined will include municipal water, oilfield produced water, mining water, desalination, and industrial water. Speakers will also address financing aspects of the water business at the 2012 WATER EXECUTIVE Forum.

William Malarkey, managing director-investment banking at Boenning & Scattergood, will act as session moderator. Mr. Malarkey will also speak on the topic, "Sources for Funding Growth at Small-Cap Water Businesses." This presentation will address ways that smaller and mid-size water companies can pursue funding sources to help provide capital for future growth.

On the investment side, Neil Berlant, a partner in Crowell, Weedon & Co., will address investment opportunities in the water business as the forum's luncheon speaker March 6. Peter Censky, the executive director of the Water Quality Association, will address the topic of future trends in the home drinking water business.

Other confirmed speakers include Jerry Rowe, global director water resource management at Hatch; Dewitt Dees, business development director at Heckmann Corp.; Alan Daza, a vice president at Aquatech International; Nikolay Voutchkov, the president of Water Group Consulting; Snehal Desai, global director of marketing with Dow Water & Process Solutions; Paul Turgeon, former president of BWA Water Additives; Steve Hopper, executive vice president for industrial business at Veolia Water; Richard Holmes, a deputy general manager with the Las Vegas Valley Water District; Dr. Michael Snow, president of SnowPure LLC; and David Rose, a vice president with Wedbush Securities.
