REELY Corp. announced a partnership today with ECAC Hockey, an NCAA Division I Ice Hockey conference, to produce real-time clips, highlights, and condensed games for over 400 events in the 2019-2020 season. This partnership empowers ECAC Hockey to create and distribute short-form content to boost social engagement and provide fans with dynamic content faster than ever before. This news is the latest in REELY’s string of significant announcements across the collegiate space including partnerships with PrestoSports, the Missouri Valley Conference and the Canada West Conference.

The REELY platform makes creating and sharing video easy with proprietary computer vision-based highlight detection. The content is automatically created in an instant and can be shared across social channels and team websites with a single click.

“We’re extremely excited to partner with REELY and bring minute-by-minute highlights to our fans,” said Steve Bobarakis, ECAC Hockey Assistant Commissioner. “Finding new ways to showcase our student-athletes in the digital world is always a priority, and REELY’s technology will allow us to do just that.”

REELY’s proprietary HYPE score gives ECAC Hockey access to ranked highlights that are easily sortable. This drastically increases the efficiency with which editors can find, select, and distribute content – saving time and money while increasing brand-building opportunities and monetization.

In the past eight months, REELY has added over 70 collegiate, semi-pro and professional teams and leagues to its rapidly expanding customer list. The AI platform works across a broad range of field and court sports including basketball, football, soccer, baseball, softball, volleyball, lacrosse and hockey.

“Digital media continues to expand, greatly increasing sports information directors’ roles and responsibilities,” said Ian Stephens, CMO and Co-Founder of REELY. “Our technology empowers one person to generate highlights from multiple events in real-time while cutting in half the amount of time it takes to produce custom highlight reels. Using A.I. to lessen that workload and provide fans with the best content in an instant is a game changer for innovative collegiate athletic departments.”

Using the REELY platform is incredibly easy – all it takes is three simple steps. Users enter a link to their content, REELY processes the video and the output is immediately delivered to the customer for distribution. The platform can be utilized through a web-based interface or an API depending upon the use-case. “A five-minute demo is all it takes to revolutionize your workflow,” continued Mr. Stephens, “We are still amazed by people's reactions when they see our platform creating real-time highlights from their content.”

Established in 1961-62, ECAC Hockey is home to elite student-athletes from 12 of the nation’s most prestigious institutions: Brown University, Clarkson University, Colgate University, Cornell University, Dartmouth College, Harvard University, Princeton University, Quinnipiac University, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, St. Lawrence University, Union College and Yale University.

REELY’s mission is to empower content owners to build stronger brands by enhancing fan engagement with clips, highlights, and condensed games. Core to the REELY ecosystem is a proprietary artificial intelligence based platform that leverages computer vision and machine learning to automatically clip, tags, rank and distribute short-form content in real time. The platform supports both traditional sports and eSports for a growing list of global clients.
