Reduce Your Contact Lens Solution Consumption
Online, May 23, 2011 (Newswire.com) - My name is John Tabernik, and I am trying to spread the word about how contact lens users can save money and reduce the garbage they create.
There are 12.5 million people in the US and 125 million people worldwide who wear contact lenses. If we all just use the contact lens cases we get free from the manufacturers, we will end up spending a lot every year on solution and produce a lot more trash.
I sat down with a number of lens cases and carefully measured the amount of solution each case holds. My findings were staggering--that those "free" cases from the manufacturers hold up to 2-1/2 times the amount of solution a smaller no-name case holds. The difference can be 6 extra bottles of saline a year or more. With these running at least $10 a bottle, that is a lot of money for each individual--and a ton of money if you multiply that by ever contact lens wearer in the US!
Add to that the environmental impact of 6 extra plastic bottles a year for every person, and you have more than enough reason to get a smaller case!
My company is focused on providing information to people on how to reduce their saline consumption. Together, we can save money, reduce consumption, and reduce landfills everywhere!
