Online, August 29, 2011 (Newswire.com) - READS Homework Helper today announced that it will be hosting its first Twitter Book Party featuring Ramin Ganeshram, author of Stir it Up! - The event will be an online discussion for 4th to 6th graders and their parents through the social networking site. READS creator and reading specialist, Elaine Meyers, will lead the discussion with Ms. Ganeshram, using questions from the READS question cards. The Twitter Book Party will be held on Wednesday, August 31st at 7 pm, and is free for all participants.
Stir it Up! is the story of thirteen-year-old Anjali. Her life is rich with the smell of curry from her parents' roti shot and an absolute passion for food. More than anything, Anjali wants to be a chef who competes on a kids' reality TV show. But Anjali must keep her wish a secret from her family, who thinks Anjali's passions are beneath her. Thank goodness for Deema, Anjali's
grandmother, whose insight and love can push past even the oldest family beliefs. Woven with recipes that cook up emotions and actual culinary recipes that make food, the novel is both delicious and satisfying. Stir it Up! was released August 1, 2011, and is published by Scholastic Press.
"We are thrilled to have Ramin as the guest author for our first ever Twitter Book Party," said Mrs. Meyers. "The Twitter Book Party is the perfect opportunity for students and parents alike to share their thoughts and ask questions about this wonderful novel. It's also the perfect opportunity to dust off the reading cobwebs in time for the school year."
READS was developed to help ensure reading comprehension and create conversation between young readers and their parents. The 30-question cards that will be used during the Twitter Book Party can be used with any reading material in any setting. The complete READS package can be found online at www.OurHomeWorkHelper.com
