Raymond James' Lanta Evans-Motte Receives InvestmentNews Award for Excellence in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

Lanta Evans-Motte, MBA, RFC®, RICP® and Financial Advisor with Raymond James Financial Services

InvestmentNews recently recognized Lanta Evans-Motte, MBA, RFC®, RICP®, a Financial Advisor with Raymond James Financial Services, as a 2021 Excellence in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion See It, Be It Role Model*. See It, Be It Role Models are individuals in the financial planning business selected by InvestmentNews who exemplify success and serve as an inspiration to others from diverse backgrounds to embrace the profession. An entrepreneur and independent financial advisor with over 30 years of business experience, Evans-Motte specializes in providing personalized investment management and retirement planning services for professionals, families and businesses.

"I am very honored to receive this award, especially since I truly believe this is what I was put on the planet to do," stated Evans-Motte. "After college, I was very interested in financial literacy and I began sharing what I learned with my family, friends, and eventually through free community workshops. Once I realized financial planning was my calling, I navigated starting my own business. As a young, female advisor of color in a male-dominated industry, I had to work extra hard to prove to the industry and prospective clients that with my successful corporate career in finance, a BS in accounting and an MBA in finance, I was very well positioned to handle my clients' money." Evans-Motte adds, "With hopeful anticipation, I continue to work for and envision a future when people of color and women have equitable access to careers and advancement, resources and investments, and compensation for comparable work and effort."

As a role model in the financial planning industry, Evans-Motte spends a significant amount of time paying her experience and expertise forward by mentoring others. She is a 2001 charter member and previously served as president of the Association of African American Financial Advisors. She is also a member of Raymond James' Black Financial Advisors Network Advisory Council. To help students learn sound financial habits early in life, she co-founded the nonprofit Literacy Institute for Financial Enrichment and in 2006 created its Youth Savings and Investment Club Program, which has educated more than 2,000 students.

Evans-Motte is featured in the August 9 issue of InvestmentNews and online at  https://www.dandiin.com/individual-awards/see-it-be-it-role-model-12/.
