Ram Jack at Sea World

Sea World Light & Banner Poles Supported San Diego, California

Working efficiently during one of the busiest times of the year for Sea World San Diego, one of their attractions was in much need of a light and banner pole. Ram Jack Pacific successfully provided support using helical piles where concrete wouldn't suffice as a support solution. With high traffic volume and narrow walkways, Ram Jack was able to save Sea World time and money with minimal disturbance allowing them to continue business as usual.

An attraction at Sea World San Diego needed new light and banner poles to be added. A traditional solution to such a problem is concrete caissons, but because of all the time required to drill, install and cure concrete, such a solution was unfeasible. Recognizing a better method was needed, Grantham Engineering contacted Ram Jack Pacific.

To support the new poles, a custom helical pile with a 5 ½" diameter was proposed to Ram Jack.  The custom pile design also consisted of a pile cap, which would allow the poles to be placed and removed with ease.  Ram Jack’s engineers quickly got to work designing the new pile, and once finished Ram Jack manufacturing fabricated it.

Coming in at midnight after closing time, Ram Jack installed the new helical piles to support the new banner and light poles. Ram Jack’s trucks were able to fit on the narrow walkways, allowing access to the necessary area. In the end, Ram Jack’s fast, minimally-invasive and professional method provided Sea World with the perfect solution.
