Qeep - The Mobile App That's Saving Mankind!

Cologne-based mobile community launches its epic new adventure, Area 8

Forget the Mayan apocalypse: humanity's fight for survival has already begun on qeep, the mobile social discovery platform. In brand new multiplayer adventure Area 8, gamers become one of the last surviving humans in a seemingly hopeless battle against the Skulks - Earth's ruling race of biotech aliens.

Area 8 is the long-awaited successor to Darkville, the first of qeep's homegrown adventure games which saw 100,000s of qeepers embark on a quest to become history's most powerful vampire. Area 8 provides a glimpse into a dark, dystopian future for our planet, as players awake in an anarchic, post-apocalyptic world where humans have turned against each other to survive. But that's nothing compared to the greatest threat of all: the alien overlords.

Players will arm themselves with futuristic weapons, forge friendships and uncover a truly fearsome secret as they take on 22 missions of fighting, survival and surprises. And in true qeep style, Area 8 has social at its heart: qeep friends will automatically fight side-by-side in clans.

In-app purchases allow qeepers to speed up their gameplay. It's a tried-and-tested concept in the qeep community: over 150,000 premium transactions took place in Darkville last year.

"Our gamers' in-app purchases make up a significant part of our monetization, alongside virtual gifts, skill games and advertising", says Cornelius Rost, managing director and cofounder of Blue Lion Mobile. "We were able to raise our ARPU on paid content by around 40% last year in 2012, and make good progress developing the financial side of our community."
