PT. PLEASANT BEACH HOTEL CUTS ENERGY COSTS WITH NEW SOLAR POWER INSTALLATION
The Sand Pebble Motor Lodge keeps room rates low with savings from new Solar Energy System

The Tony Gamb Corp, owners of the Sand Pebble Motor Lodge in Point Pleasant, NJ hired Sunergy America of Eatontown, NJ to design, engineer and construct a 30kW roof mounted solar power system to reduce their energy expenses.

The Sand Pebble, located across the street from the famous Point Pleasant Beach and Boardwalk, has not increased its standard rates for the past three years and needed to reduce its energy costs. So, they contracted Sunergy America to design and construct solar panels on the roof of their two main buildings. They installed 80 CentroSolar CP6 solar modules on the larger building and 56 Uni-solar Power Bond PVL-144 Thin Film modules on the second building. Three Solectria PVI 10kW inverters were used to consolidate the modules and interface them with the Buildings and the Electrical Grid. Sunergy America managed the entire project from start to finish.

Sunergy America helped the Sand Pebble execute an Interconnection Agreement with Jersey Central Power & Light (JCP&L) for Net Metering. This is a metering option that:

1) Credits customer-generators at the full retail rate for each kilowatt-hour produced by a Class 1 renewable energy system installed on the customer-generator's side of the electric revenue meter, up to the total amount of electricity used by that customer during an annualized period; and
2) Compensates the customer-generator at the end of the annualized period for any remaining credits, at a rate equal to the supplier/provider's avoided cost of wholesale power.

In order to cover some of the costs for the new solar power system, Sunergy America helped the Sand Pebble acquire a US Treasury Section 1603 Federal Grant that covered up to 30% of the system and qualify them to earn New Jersey Solar Renewable Energy Certificates (SREC). These SREC Certificates are sold to the electric companies to help them meet New Jersey carbon reduction emissions standards.

Tony Gambarony, the President of TonyGamb Corp. stated "Sunergy America helped us realize our plan to reduce energy costs in order to maintain our standard room rates for our customers. Their team of professionals answered all of our questions and provided us with an excellent alternative energy saving system."

"The Sand Pebble is a great vacation facility that provides many amenities for a value price. The Sand Pebble owners have made an investment that will help them maintain their facility's value for years to come." Commented, Bruno D'Uva, CEO of Sunergy America.

This solar power system was recently completed and is now producing electricity from the roof mounted solar panels. The Sand Pebble Motor Lodge has 36 guest rooms that will utilize this renewable energy.
