Promoting Crafts and Design at Chaupad
Online, January 30, 2014 (Newswire.com) - ANANTAYA is not just a concept design studio for your home decor needs, but rather a lifestyle choice that you make. Always supportive of traditional crafts, indigenous artisans and emerging creative talents, ANANTAYA collaborated with Indian Institute of Crafts & Design to present a unique inter college fest - Chaupad.
The Indian Institute of Crafts and Design (IICD) is not just a college; it is an abode of crafts and culture. Living the cultural values, ethos and splendor of crafts in every walk, IICD is one of the best institutes of its kind in the country.
Chaupadwas more than a regular college fest; it was a rich blend of color, culture, craft, folk, Rajasthan and most importantly, the relation between crafts, design and humans. The two-day event invited design and crafts students from around the world and had fun interactive activities along with workshops for learning. Students learned about metal casting, 'adda' work, handmade paper, hand block printing, enameling, kite making and 'tarkashi' along with a slew of fun activities.
Dipped in the deep, royal hues of indigo with a touch of folk and fusion, one of the major highlights of the international inter-college fest was a live performance by the famous indigenous folk rock band - Indian Ocean.
'Chaupad' presented by ANANTAYA was a beautiful celebration of Art, Design and Culture.
'ANANTAYA' means unending. Presenting an endless tale of traditional crafts, an endless endeavor of design and innovation, an endeavor of making things that arenot just beautiful, but also beautifully fit into your lifestyle.
