Project Wayfinder and San Domenico School Partner for West Coast 2019 Wayfinder Summer Institute
Now accepting applications for teacher professional development, empowering students to live purposeful lives.
BERKELEY, Calif., February 26, 2019 (Newswire.com) - Project Wayfinder and San Domenico School have partnered to host the West Coast 2019 Wayfinder Summer Institute on SD’s 515-acre campus just north of San Francisco. Project Wayfinder was developed at the Stanford d.School and uses a wayfinding metaphor - using traditional and indigenous navigation techniques and skills to journey through the natural world - to equip students and teachers with tools and skills to create purposeful lives. This practice is in strong alignment with San Domenico’s 169-year commitment to providing students not only exceptional education but, also, a sense of personal purpose and meaning. The institute will bring together educators from around the world for training to implement Project Wayfinder in the classroom.
Upon completion of this training, educators will be equipped with strategies, tactics, and skills based in social-emotional learning, project-based learning, design thinking and 21st Century Skills to integrate directly into schools and community programs. The program is open to high school educators including advisers, administrators, counselors, teachers, coaches, and more.

Schools are encouraged to send between two and seven educators from a school or program to the Institute. Priority for admittance will be given to teams with one school leader and one teacher or more.
Training for eight or more educators from a school or program can be facilitated through On-Site School Trainings.
