PRO Sports Club in Washington Gives Extra 2017 Compensation to Employees Due to New Tax Law
BELLEVUE, Wash., December 28, 2017 (Newswire.com) - PRO Sports Club, which operates three health club locations in the Seattle area, and employs over 800 people, just announced that it is issuing an extra paycheck to employees for 2017. This is made possible by the anticipated savings to the company from the GOP tax law which was just signed by President Trump. 496 Employees have received a combined total of $130,000 in extra compensation, based on the number of hours they have worked in 2017. Full-time employees who have averaged 40 hours per week for the entire year are receiving $300.
Owner, Dr. Mark Dedomenico stated, “Even though we are just an S Corporation, the new tax law has freed up some cash that the company would have normally paid in upcoming taxes, and we wanted to share the savings with our employees who have worked at least 1000 hours during the year. The enhanced business climate under President Trump also allowed us, earlier this year, to start a major expansion of our flagship club in Bellevue.”

The new expansion, to be completed in October 2018, will be 54,000 square feet. It includes medical programs that complement the club’s existing 275,000 square feet of sports, health club, and medical facilities. Most notable will be the surgery clinic and operating rooms for orthopedic surgery and other specialties, creating a convenient location where patients can receive surgery, post-surgery rehabilitation with physical therapy, and long-term fitness and injury prevention with personal trainers, all in one location.
