Arthritis is umbrella term that describes more than 100 inflammatory diseases of the joints include osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and psoriatic arthritis. RA is a common chronic disease that affects about 1% of the world population. The prevalence of RA in the US, based on rates of RA from a 1995 Minnesota study and 2005 Census data, is currently estimated at approximately 1.29 million people or 0.6% of the population. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention March 2017 Vital Signs announced data estimating that 54.4 million U.S. adults suffer from arthritis - equating to about 25% of the population. Arthritis is the leading cause of disability, and causes pain, aching, stiffness and swelling of the joints. The most common types are osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, gout, lupus, and fibromyalgia. By 2040, an estimated 78 million (26%) U.S. adults ages 18 years or older are projected to have doctor-diagnosed arthritis, according to The American College of Rheumatology.
Many patients cannot afford alternative regenerative medicine and I want to help.
