Prince Edward Theatre Hosting Jersey Boys Shows
Online, May 16, 2013 (Newswire.com) - Prince Edward Theatre is staging performances of the Jersey Boys since March 2008. Winner of over 54 international awards, Jersey Boys is a tribute to Frank Valli and the Four Seasons. The band comprising of Frankie Valli, Bob Gaudio, Tommy DeVito and Nick Massi, had its members coming from the wrong sides of the tracks. But they became America's most popular rock bands of 1960s selling over 175 millions of their records worldwide.
Jersey Boys London is presented at the Prince Edward Theatre by an ensemble cast of the show. Frank Valli is played by the immensely talented Ryan Molloy. His other notable stage credits include Mr Cerebrum in The Pickled Cerebrum (Playhouse, LA), Macduff in Macbeth (Workhouse, London), Jerry in Betrayal and Gobo in The Merchant of Venice (Workhouse, London).
Jon Boydon has been playing Tommy DeVito for the past four years. His notable stage contributions include Rock in Smelling a Rat, The Doctor and the Murderer in Macbeth and Edurado in Ben Elton's Silly Cow. David Mcgranaghan who played Colin in Chariots of Five and Lucentio in The Taming of the Shrew portrays Nick Massi. Edd Post makes appearance as Bob Gaudio. Post played the lead Galileo alternatively in We Will Rock You. The other cast members of the show include Will Barratt, Nicola Brazil, Rebecca Jayne Davies, Ben Evans, Chris Gardner, Lucinda Gill, Mark Halliday, Mark Isherwood, Ben Jennings, Tommie Earl Jenkins, Stuart King, Lucy Martin, Stuart Milligan, Jake Samuels, Michael Watson, Ben Wheeler and Gemma Whitelam.
Jersey Boys London has been brought to West End by its original creative team that won several Tony Awards including the one for the Best Musical. The musical is a Des McAnuff directorial while it features choreography by Sergio Trujillo. Some of the smashing Four Seasons hits that are a part of the show include Sherry, Walk Like A Man, December 1963 (Oh What A Night), Bye Bye Baby and Big Girls Don't Cry.
