Pride Magazine Announces Staff Changes and Unveils New Website
Online, August 30, 2010 (Newswire.com) - Torrey Feimster has transitioned out of his role as publisher of Pride Magazine and has been named director of corporate relations at Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte. Dee Dixon, president and CEO of Pride Communications, will resume her previous role as the magazine's publisher.
"Torrey added much to Pride during his seven-year tenure with the magazine," Dixon said. "His departure is definitely bittersweet. Torrey will be sorely missed, but he's also my son, so I'm wishing him all the best in his new career at Johnson C. Smith University."
Constance Holloway has been named as Pride Magazine's full-time editor. Holloway has a long history working with Pride Magazine, most recently serving in the role of freelance editor.
"We are thrilled about Constance's new role as editor," said Dixon. "She truly understands the Pride reader and she brings a wealth of experience with her in her new role."
Holloway earned a bachelor's degree in public relations from the University of Georgia's Henry W. Grady School of Journalism and Mass Communication. She worked in the newsroom of the Columbus (Ga.) Ledger-Enquirer as a copy-layout editor, and the Charlotte (N.C.) Observer in positions ranging from copy editor to editor of a weekly entertainment publication.
In addition, Ricci Pullum has been promoted to account executive on the sales team and Tye Feimster has taken on additional responsibilities that include maintaining and updating Pride Magazine's website and handling the publication's social media outreach.
Although Pride Magazine's next issue doesn't hit newsstands until September, in the meantime, readers are encouraged to visit the magazine's new, redesigned website at www.pridemagazine.net, which was unveiled earlier this month.
"Our new website has been completely redesigned with our readers in mind," Tye Feimster said. "The site is interactive, informative and engaging. Pride Magazine continues to move forward and we invite our loyal readers and advertisers to join us on this amazing journey."
