President and Executive Director Assume New Roles at the Children's Cancer Foundation, Inc.
COLUMBIA, Md., November 21, 2019 (Newswire.com) - After serving as the President of The Children’s Cancer Foundation, Inc. (CCF) for over six years, Dr. Jerrold C. Chadwick will assume the responsibilities of Chairman of the Board, effective immediately. Lindley Bucci, CCF Board member and current Vice President, will assume the role of Vice Chairwoman. Tasha Museles, who has served as CCF’s Executive Director for five years, will assume the role of President.
Since its founding in 1983, The Children’s Cancer Foundation, Inc. is committed to funding locally based researchers, programs and facilities until every child is assured a healthy future. Through partnerships with local hospitals and programs from Baltimore to Northern Virginia, CCF continues to invest locally, this year granting nearly $1 million to researchers and programs.
Dr. Chadwick, principal of My Fresh Solutions, LLC, has served on the CCF Board of Directors for over 25 years and will continue to lead the 19-member Board. Dr. Chadwick served as Vice President, Sales & Marketing for Lancaster Foods, LLC prior to founding My Fresh Solutions LLC, a sales & marketing agency and consulting firm focused on emerging companies and the fresh perimeter departments of the supermarket industry.
Museles, who served as Chief Development Officer of the Bender JCC of Greater Washington prior to joining CCF, will continue to oversee CCF operations and maintain partnerships with local businesses, foundations and community members as well as with the CCF Scientific Advisory Board. “I have truly appreciated the years of guidance and leadership that Dr. Chadwick has contributed to me, The Board of Directors and to CCF. In my role as President, I hope to continue the legacy that he has carried.”
Cancer continues to be the number one cause of disease-related death in children. Research for pediatric cancer accounts for only 4% of federal cancer research funding. Since 1983, CCF has awarded more than $38 million to area hospitals and researchers to treat and cure childhood cancers including The Johns Hopkins Hospital, Children’s National Health Services, The National Cancer Institute and The Children’s Inn, Sinai Hospital, University of Maryland and Georgetown Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center.
