Premier Inc. & Co. Completes Successful Food Drive
At Premier Inc. & Co., giving back to the community is a part of the firm's fiber. Each team member actively embraces the idea of helping those in need. Recently, the team collected canned goods for local food pantries.
Lombard, IL, February 26, 2016 (Newswire.com) - “In today’s world, it’s deplorable to think that anyone would ever go hungry,” said Paul, Premier Inc. & Co.’s President. “This is why our associates chose to conduct a month-long food drive.”
As Paul elaborated, the Premier Inc. & Co. team treated this food collection project with the same intensity that they would any campaign. “We established goals for the quantity of food we wanted to collect,” he shared. “We monitored our progress closely to ensure we stayed on target with our collection efforts.”
“Our marketing strategy was to remind people of how important it is to ensure everyone has good food to eat,” Paul added. “Many of us see the holidays as being the times for food collection. However, the need for food pantries to be stocked is great all year.”
Paul stated that his team would be donating the bounty they collected to the local food bank in the Lombard area. “This organization provides for families and individuals in need. We were happy to be able to help.”
Premier Inc. & Co.’s President Highlights Strategies for Community Giveback, and Benefits to the Company
“At Premier Inc. & Co., we believe we have an obligation to provide assistance to charitable organizations in the community that supports our business,” said Paul. “As such, we carefully select those organizations for which we collect goods or lend financial or physical support.”
Paul noted that the benefits for firms are astounding. “People remember which businesses are supportive of their favorite causes,” he suggested. “It’s more than simple name recognition, too. When you and your team become vested in community service, you begin to connect with not just those at the organization, but customers and other businesses as well.”
As far as selecting a cause to support, Paul offered a few recommendations. “First, review your current community’s needs,” he said. “Next, consult with your team to decide on which causes you can achieve a consensus. It’s important that your team is in agreement with your fundraising projects.”
The next step is to decide how to assist this organization. “We did a food drive because that was what the food bank needed,” he said. “Other groups might need cash. Perhaps sponsoring an event would be the best way to serve them.”
“It is essential that your philanthropic activities are connected to actual projects, not simply everyone chipping in a few dollars for a dress-down day,” Paul advised. “Another key aspect of volunteering is to generate a bonding experience for your team as well. One firm recently sponsored a local youth hockey team. Not only did the company pay for the jerseys, but team members set out to cheer for the kids.”
“As a successful business, supporting local charitable causes is tantamount to being a good corporate citizen,” Paul concluded. “I’m proud of our team’s commitment to serve the Lombard region as we continue to grow our business here.”
