Polito's Pizza Challenges Man V Food For Charity Event

Monster Pizza Challenge remains unbeaten after more than 300 attempts

Polito's Pizza, the popular family-owned pizzerias in Wisconsin, has thrown down the gauntlet, challenging the popular "Man v. Food" TV star to its "Monster Pizza Challenge" in the name of charity.

Polito's Pizza, which operates 4 restaurants in Wisconsin, has issued its "Monster Pizza Challenge" for over 3 years. A team of two participants are given an hour to eat a 28-inch pizza for a $500 prize. Over 300 teams have tried, but none have won. The "Man v. Food" show on the Travel Channel features its host Adam Richman dominating eating challenges around the country.

For this event, Polito's has offered to increase the prize to $2000 should Richman win, to be donated to the charity of his choice. Even if Richman doesn't succeed, Polito's has offered to donate $100 per pound eaten to charity.

"Man v. Food" has not yet commented on the challenge.
