Political Novel, 'The Independent', Offers Monroe Taylor for President

Fictional Candidate has 2020 Vision

The Independent

The author of The Independent lay in his bed seething about the state of American politics. Unable to contain his rage, Victor P. Luxus got up and began to craft a story of an outsider who takes on the president and the people who voted for him.

The protagonist is Monroe Taylor, a small-town newspaper editor. Taylor despises the current state of American politics. He has railed against a dysfunctional political system that has degenerated into a tribal mentality: Republican vs. Democrat, Liberal vs. Conservative, Black vs. White, Clinton vs. Trump, “Us” vs. “Them”.

His political philosophies have matured over the last thirty-five years as editor of The Latrobe Independent. But now he’s looking to bring his message to the national stage. He decides to run for president as an Independent. He steps into the political arena to confront a citizenry that supports a president who has an incoherent message and chaotic policies, and news organizations that are complicit and codependent.

This is the debut novel of Victor P. Luxus, a business owner who daily overcomes the obstacles placed before him by his own government. This book is available on Amazon and BN.com.
