Pole Dancers Aim for Broadway

Contemporary Dance Company, The PULSE Project, Aims high to bring Industrial Movement to The Great White Way

Contemporary pole dance company, The PULSE Project, has been having top-secret closed rehearsals for the last 3 years. Artistic Director Brook Notary has a distinct vision of where she wants the company to go. Her goal is Broadway.

Brook Notary started the genre-bending powerhouse The PULSE Project in 2011 after being invited to judge for the US Pole Dance Federation National Championship. Fueled with the curiosity of developing a new movement with the use of pole dance and drawing inspiration from the energy of New York City, she has re-envisioned the performance art to create the newest genre in dance: Industrial Movement.

Contemporary dance, aerial theater, parkour, acrobatics, pole dancing - Industrial Movement melds all these genres into one dynamic, visceral theatrical experience. Industrial Movement is the core of The PULSE Project and in each production, Brook aims to electrify audiences and challenge their preconceived notions about female sensuality.

A non-profit dance company, The PULSE Project has had two sold-out shows and is currently working on a third production coming this May 1st and 2nd titled She IS which will feature award-winning pole dancer Michelle Stanek . Two more shows are planned for October 2014 and February 2015. The ultimate goal of the company is to have a long-running show in New York City's famed Theatre District, plus to tour nationally and internationally, and to enter into festivals to spread the reach of Industrial Movement. She IS talented cast includes Cat Cogliandro, Samantha Farrow, Jenn Freeman, Anna Grundstrom, Ayo Jackson, Love Muwwakkil, Allison Ulrich
