PMA Event at NAB, "The Advocates: Shaping The Future Of Music & Copyright"

The Production Music Association is presenting a behind-the-scenes evening with the NSAI at 6:00 PM on Monday, April 16th in the Las Vegas H (Hilton) Ballroom B.

Hear the latest updates from your advocates at the PMA & the NSAI and learn what needs to be done to protect and sustain our professional communities and discover how working with Congress gets results. Speakers include the NSAI's Steve Bogard and Bart Herbison as well as members of the PMA's Board of Directors.

This event is open to all interested professionals. There is no cost to attend however an RSVP is requested to Debra@pmamusic.com. Walk-ins are welcome according to space availability.

PRINCIPLES AND CORE VALUES OF THE PMA AND ITS MEMBER LIBRARIES

1. The PMA respects copyrights and supports efforts to enhance and strengthen copyright protection of music and other intellectual property throughout the world.

2. The PMA believes that high-quality music is an essential core value and is committed to providing quality product.

3. The PMA supports the PROs as the primary source of performance licensing.

4. The PMA believes that composers should not be required to give up any portion of their writer's share of performance income as a condition of employment. The PMA supports the composer's right to receive 100% of their writer's share of performance royalties.

5. The PMA supports licensed music and does not support buyout music.

6. The PMA is committed to data integrity, including accurate and relevant search terms and metadata.

7. PMA members have acquired all necessary rights to license their music, including both sync and master rights, and their music is registered with the applicable performing rights societies.

8. The PMA opposes the practice of re-titling when used in conjunction with non-exclusive representation.

9. The PMA believes that libraries should not be required to give up a percentage of the publisher's share of performance income as a condition of their music being licensed.

10. The PMA does not condone synch-free agreements or gratis licensing deals.

11. PMA member libraries maintain E & O insurance coverage or self-insure.
