Philly Butcher Delivery Service, Born Out of COVID-19, Opens Their Doors to the Neighbors of Port Richmond
KP's Fine Meats plans to continue the 100-year-long butcher tradition at the corner of Clearfield and Memphis St., serving quality meat with the warm invite of a traditional family butcher.
PHILADELPHIA, January 31, 2022 (Newswire.com) - KP's Fine Meats is proud to announce the opening of a new brick and mortar butcher shop in Port Richmond at the corner of Memphis and Clearfield. On the 5th and 6th of February from 10am to 3pm they will be opening our doors for the official celebration of our retail space. Kevin Penney (KP), Owner and Head Butcher, established KP's Fine Meats as a butcher-delivery service in March 2020, and quickly grew to serve dozens of customers a week, spanning a 20-mile radius from Philadelphia. Word spread quickly and, while the product can speak for itself regarding quality, the goal was always to give friends, family, and anyone who was in the market, a dinner to be excited about.
The commercial front on Memphis and Clearfield has been serving the community since its foundation in 1919. Primarily as a butcher shop, 2329 E Clearfield St was a prized shop under its occupation by Jim's Meat Market. Fond memories are shared by all the impact Jim had on the neighborhood and KP is excitedly filling those shoes.
Upon entering KP's Fine Meats you will find a combination of mindfully sourced and accessible neighborhood favorites like chip-steak, deli meats, fresh ground beef, handmade sausages, and fresh chicken as well as unique specialty products like locally sourced beef, pork, veal, and poultry, Japanese Wagyu, dry-aged beef and pork, sardines and other preserved items, and a variety of imports.
Accessibility and convenience are the backbone of this business and KPs Fine Meats plans on offering an EBT program as well as promoting wholesale pricing for bulk orders and vacuum sealing for easier storage.
In addition to the staples, KP is working with their own in-house salumier - Joe Trinkle. The shop will offer homemade, house cured salami, prosciutto, pancetta, as well as some lesser-known cured items like lardo and culatello.
Free at-home delivery to families across the Philadelphia region will remain a core pillar of this business. The retail shop will be open Tuesday - Saturday from 10 am - 3 pm, and deliveries will be available Tuesday through Saturday on scheduled routes.
