Penman PR, The Fowler Group Partner on KnoWhat2Do Campaign

The KnoWhat2Do campaign, supported by a committee of emergency managers from 16 North Texas Counties, including Dallas, Tarrant, Collin and Denton, is set to launch a high pwoered markting and PR blitz to make the KnoWhat2Do a household name.

Penman PR, one of the most innovative independent PR firms in the nation and the only international public relations firm to offer 100% senior-level representation, and Arlington-based The Fowler Group, an award winning marketing and design firm, announced today they will collaborate to provide full-scale public relations and marketing services for the KnoWhat2Do Program.

The KnoWhat2Do campaign was initiated in 2006. KnoWhat2Do is steered by a committee of public safety and emergency management officials from the 16 North Central Texas counties, which includes Dallas, Tarrant, Collin and Denton. The counties are working together to disseminate public safety and preparedness tips and messages to the entire North Central Texas region through public events and the KnoWhat2Do website (www.knowhat2do.com). Funded by a grant from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, the campaign is a collaborative effort offering shared resources to all of its regional local government partners.

Now in Phase II, the marketing and PR phase, the campaign will proactively disseminate news and information to the North Central Texas citizenry so they may be educated through a variety of resources to know what to do in times of crisis, disaster or threat to personal health and safety. Phase II of the KnoWhat2Do campaign will include a series of radio, billboard, internet and cinema messages designed to direct the public to plans, kits and tips found in KnoWhat2Do booklets and DVDs. The campaign has also signed with retired WFAA meteorologist Troy Dungan as the public face of KnoWhat2Do.

The KnoWhat2Do campaign will also introduce a children's component, which include a web site, community events and a mascot. KnoWhat2Do will engage children through school programs, community contests and events geared at children, to help get families talking about the messages of KnoWhat2Do.

In conjunction with The Fowler Group, Steed was involved in authoring the first series of messages for Phase One of the KnoWhat2Do marketing campaign.
