Parjana Takes Belle Isle by Storm
DETROIT, MICHIGAN, July 18, 2014 (Newswire.com) - Parjana Distribution, a Michigan-based water management company, has announced completion of their eagerly anticipated 24-acre installation on Belle Isle, marking a giant step toward eliminating the yearly $1.2 million storm water fee the island pays to the Detroit Water and Sewerage Department.
On July 21-22, Parjana invites all to celebrate the occasion, which will also feature an unveiling and demonstration of their newest state-of-the-art drill rig among public and private stakeholders.
The patented Low Impact Design technology of the new installation eliminates storm water from entering the existing drain system, reducing sewer overflows and relieving the overtaxed DWSD water treatment facility where storm and sewer water is treated.
The proposed next step would be installing the Parjana system throughout the entire island, which would greatly mitigate or possibly eliminate the water fee and prevent the overflow of untreated storm and sewer water that contaminates the Detroit River. A timeline on this phase of the project TBD.
Residents dealing with the massive storm water issues that are crippling urban areas now have an innovative solution born and raised in Detroit. To learn more about the revolutionary ways Parjana is improving water infiltration, visit www.parjana.com
