Owners' Counsel of America Elects Four New State Members

Meet Lawyers Mark M. Murakami, Amit Ranade, Tara Horvath, and Christopher Markus

Owners' Counsel of America (OCA), an exclusive national organization of leading eminent domain attorneys, is pleased to announce the selection of four new members for the states of Hawaii, Washington, Pennsylvania and Kentucky. Mark M. Murakami is with the law firm of Damon Key Leong Kupchak and Hastert in Honolulu, Hawaii. Amit Ranade is with the law firm of Hillis Clark Martin & Peterson in Seattle, Washington. Tara Horvath is with the law firm of Faherty Law in Hershey, Pennsylvania. And Christopher Markus is with the law firm of DBL Law in Northern Kentucky. All practice in a variety of property-, real estate- and land use-related areas, with a special emphasis on eminent domain, inverse condemnation and regulatory takings, predominantly (if not exclusively) on behalf of private property owners.

"We are thrilled to have such outstanding lawyers join our ranks," says OCA's Executive Director Leslie Fields. "They are all at the peak of their professional lives and will bring a tremendous amount of talent, enthusiasm and vitality to the organization. We are particularly happy to have found Christopher Markus, who will be our very first designated member for the state of Kentucky."

OCA's standards for adding new members are rigorous given that only one member per state is selected. "We aim to find the leading lawyers in each state," continues Leslie Fields. "Not merely those with the experience and knowledge to handle complex eminent domain and related matters, but also those who have a passion for representing private property owners against all types of property takings."
