A recent report issued by wisdomjobs.com has brought good news for job seekers, as phenomenal year on year growth (YOY) of over 30% is seen in hiring activities. Among various industries, IT-Software and ITES lead the charge with 34 and 36 percent YOY rise respectively.
India, December 14, 2015 (Newswire.com) - Following it closely are FMCG (33%), BFSI (30%), Healthcare (27%), and Pharma/Biotech (22%) industries. However, a decline of 21% in hiring activity across oil and gas industry is the only disappointment in the otherwise bright spot for job seekers.

Regarding location, among the principal cities, the highest hiring activity was recorded in Delhi-NCR region (34%). Indicating Delhi is easily one of the most preferred locations among job seekers. The financial capital of the country Mumbai comes second with 29 percent rise while emerging IT hub Pune pips Bangalore and Hyderabad to take the third spot with 25% increase in hiring activity. Hyderabad, Bangalore, and Chennai registered a rise of 23%, 19%, and 17% respectively; while Kolkata registered the least growth of 12% in hiring activities on YOY basis in October.
When it comes to functional areas, IT-Software topped with 30% growth in hiring activity for, while Sales registered 24% growth, and Pharma & Marketing and Advertising registered 22 percent. Top management professionals are in high demand highly demanded; thus have recorded an increase of 19%.
