Outer Banks Running Club Presents Colony Lost & Found 5K and Fun Run
Online, October 1, 2011 (Newswire.com) - Outer Banks Running Club presents the Colony Lost & Found 5K and Fun Run on October 15, 2011 at Lost Colony Manteo. It is a 5KM Run for the benefit of to the Food for Thought Program and The Lost Colony. Interested participants can register online for only $25 for adults and $5 for kids until October 9, 2011 to make sure they get a shirt. It is open for strictly 250 participants and refunds are not permitted.
Packet pickups will be held at Food for Thought at Manteo across the Front Porch Cafe on October 14, 2011 from 4 pm until 7 pm. If there are still spaces, registration will be open at the packet pickup on Friday at the same time. Late registrants may also be available on Saturday until 7:30 am. However, T-shirts will not be guaranteed for registrants during the race week.
The course of the race will start at Fort Raleigh Parking Lot until Lost Colony's Parking Lot. The course will take the participants through the Lost Colony, Fort Raleigh and Manteo Woods, going back on Outer Bank's bike path.
Participants who have registered on time will be given long sleeve t-shirts that are cut for both female and male. Participants are reminded that T-shirt sizes may run small and have the tendency to shrink when dried/washed. In addition, participants should also consider their shirt sizes as exchanges are not permitted. The sizes that will be made available for male and female are small, medium, large, x-large and 2 x-large will be available upon request.
Winners of the race will be awarded with a one of a kind handmade prize. For the kids, the first 60 registrants will be given a special prize as they finish the race and the others will be given a ribbon. After the race, refreshments will be provided.
