Orlando Orthodontist Charity Fundraiser, Smiles For Hope 80's Event, Brings Braces To Needy Children

The 80's Flash Back Charity Event themed "Giving Smiles To Our Local Kids In Need," by Smiles for Hope Foundation was a huge success with over 250 supporters in attendance. The event raised both awareness and funds to help children in the community.

Beneficiaries of Smiles for Hope Foundation, a non-profit organization formed by the Lach Orthodontist Specialists, now have another reason to smile. The 80's Flash Back Charity Event in Orlando, Florida was a successful event and sold out.

Smiles for Hope, founded by Orlando Orthodontist David R. Lach, is steadfast in its mission to help the local children in the community in a dramatic way. Each year the board selects several children from families facing financial challenges or special situations and provides them with scholarships for orthodontic care that might not have been available for their significant need.

This year, the Smiles For Hope organization held a fantastic night of fun to help raise money for the deserving local children in need of braces. Tagged as the 80's Flash Back Charity Event, the evening of live music from Rocklifty unfolded on June 23rd, 2011 at Drake's Boathouse, Winter Park in Orlando, Florida. The event centered on theme of the 80's style and fashion, Raffle, costume contest, Silent Auction and dancing all night long.

The proceeds from ""Giving Smiles To Our Local Kids In Need" event are going to be used to provide underserved kids the orthodontic care to help better themselves and the community. Aiming to help create self-confidence, inspire hope and change the lives of these kids, The Smiles for Hope Foundation is thankful for all who attended and came out the support this worthwhile cause.

"I feel privileged and honored to be in a position to be able to provide services that have the potential to greatly impact and change the lives of children in a very special way," says Dr. Lach. "This opportunity isn't so much about straightening teeth as it is about giving impoverished children a chance at a happier, more successful future than they otherwise would have had without the benefits of a beautiful smile."

Calling upon his artistic talent with Smile for Hope recipients, Dr. Lach's passion for orthodontics is a blend of art and science. "I see each patient's smile as a blank canvas," says Dr. Lach. "To me, every transformed smile becomes a unique masterpiece that is personalized to an individual and a direct reflection of who they are and how they are perceived by others."

Through the Orlando-based Smiles for Hope Foundation, Dr. Lach reaches out to individuals with financial challenges and special situations as determined by the locally appointed board of directors serving an important role as representatives of our community. The foundation sponsors orthodontic care for several patients each year.

A notable figure in Orlando orthodontics, Dr. Lach also is a proud supporter of many other local charities and volunteer organizations, including the March of Dimes, Shriners Hospital for Children, and the UNC Mexico Project, which he founded in 1987 to provide kids braces and other dental care for needy and underprivileged orphanage children in Mexico.
