Olympia Medical Center welcomes new Board Chair Andrew Berman, MD, and five new members to its Board of Governors from the Los Angeles community.

Board Leadership
Andrew Berman, M.D., Board Chair, is an Otolaryngologist (Ear, Nose & Throat). He also volunteers as facilitator of the Diabetes Support Group at Olympia Medical Center. He has been on the medical staff for 23 years and served on the board for the last 8 years. He is also a former chief of staff.

David Wexler, continues as Board Vice Chair. He is a business attorney, former Chair of AIDS Project Los Angeles and former member of the Los Angeles Human Relations Commission.


John Calderone, Olympia Medical Center, CEO, continues as Board Secretary and provides his observations about the new Board members, "Each of the following members on the Board of Governors offers an array of talent and a unique perspective on our community's health and well-being."

Lyn MacEwen Cohen
Lynn Cohen has a passion for public service, emergency preparedness, homeland security and public health. She has been honorary Fire Chief for the Los Angeles City Fire Department in 2006 and 2012. She is founder and president of the Miracle Mile Civic Coalition and the founding president of the First-In Fire Foundation. Lyn is the former Deputy of Beautification for Council member Tom LaBonge and a trustee of the Windsor Square-Hancock Park Historical Society and Honoree of the Los Angeles 2012 Garden Tour.

Michael Gottlieb, M.D.
Dr. Gottlieb, Board Certified in Allergy/Immunology, has been on staff at Olympia since 1998. As a young researcher, Dr. Gottlieb identified the HIV virus and authored the first report to the CDC on HIV as a disease in 1981. His current practice focuses on the treatment of HIV, viral, immunological and infectious disease patients.

Mary Harding
Mary Harding, a Los Angeles Attorney, has spent the last 16 years with William Morris, now known as William Morris Endeavor. She attended Georgetown University, UCLA Law School and, previously worked for 10 years in the Music Industry.

Meg McComb
Meg McComb is a Los Angeles business woman who is Executive Director of the Miracle Mile Chamber of Commerce. She coordinates business connections with civic responsibility. As head of Nutmeg Unlimited she enjoys project management and event production including food styling for film and television. Meg is known for her creativity and unique subject matter in her Nutmeg Photography gift cards.

Shahram Ravan, M.D.
Dr. Ravan, Board Certified in Cardiology, has held numerous positions in the hospital including Department Chair and Chief of Staff. Until recently, he has been president of the corporate entity that has managed the hospital. With 26 years on the medical staff, the Olympia Board of Governors has elected him to the Board recognizing that his history and experience would be valuable assets. He was also elected to the 2014 Board of Directors of the Hospital Association of Southern California.
