O'Donnell Agency to Design a "Good Day" for Six of Palm Beach County's Neediest Nonprofits
Online, October 29, 2013 (Newswire.com) - West Palm Beach-based O'Donnell Agency, one of Florida's largest public relations firms, has selected six local nonprofits from a field of nominations for its first annual "Good Day" community service project. "Good Day" will match O'Donnell Agency's professional graphic design team with students from Dreyfoos School of the Arts, Florida Atlantic University, and Palm Beach Atlantic University. On November 8, 2013, they will spend the day at O'Donnell Agency West Palm Beach office designing inspiring new logos, newsletter shells, email signatures, invitations and more for nonprofits without sufficient resources to hire professional designers.
The six nonprofits that were selected represent a wide range of services provided to our community. They are: Boys & Girls Club of Palm Beach County; Women's Foundation of Palm Beach County; Spady Cultural and Heritage Museum; Tri-County Humane Society; and Foster and Adoptive Parents Association of Palm Beach County.
"O'Donnell is known for its creative thinking and striking design concepts, so we can't wait to see what they come up with on our behalf," said Scott Maulsby of the Foster and Adoptive Parents Association of Palm Beach County which is looking for help with marketing materials for a new campaign to recruit foster parents. "Our agency stretches every dollar we collect, and graphic design is something we desperately need but just haven't been able to budget. For O'Donnell to provide their services to us for free has really made our "good day!" This campaign will stress the critical need for foster parents in Palm Beach County."
"Just a little bit of help can mean so much to under-funded nonprofits," said Carey O'Donnell, president of the firm that describes its integrated marketing services as 'Big PR.'" The program also offers real-world training for the student designers, which is the best kind of context to learn how their design skills apply outside the academic realm. "A strong brand starts with good graphic design and plays the same positioning and perception-shaping role for nonprofits as it does for a Fortune 500 corporation. We love being at the nexus of teaching design students how to approach a branding project while we help local nonprofits with their critical marketing needs."
"This project will provide an exceptional educational experience for our students," said FAU visual arts Professor Tammy Knipp. "And at the same time they're learning the value of giving back to the community."
Founded in 1995, O'Donnell Agency has earned regional and national industry recognition for both public relations programs and design work for area nonprofits such as Max Planck Florida Institute, Oxbridge Academy, Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League, United Way of Palm Beach County, the American Heart Association, the American Cancer Society, Quantum Foundation, the West Palm Beach Downtown Development Authority, West Palm Beach Library Foundation, Hospice of Palm Beach County, and Hanley Center.
Renowned for its critical thinking and creative concepts, O'Donnell Agency represents a prestigious roster of clients throughout Florida and in other parts of the nation in education, real estate, economic development, bioscience, law, banking and new products sectors. It is ranked by revenue among the top 10 public relations firms in Florida. In addition to its core services of public relations and crisis management, the firm offers social media marketing, search engine marketing, advertising, web design, mobile applications and video production. The agency has offices in West Palm Beach, Miami and in New York City.
