NYPD Career, Sports Fanaticism Inspires New 'Ice Cold' Novel
Online, March 26, 2013 (Newswire.com) - Ice Cold, a fiction novel published by online content manager Xlibris, tells the story of Jack Placey, a decorated veteran New York City homicide detective. Placey, simultaneously battling bouts of narcolepsy and insomnia, is assigned to investigate a murder inside the world famous Madison Square Garden. He is soon teamed with sexy, sharp tongued Sergeant Ramona Isis, a hockey fanatic who fears the killer has set his sights on her beloved New York Rangers and their quest to win the Stanley Cup. While on the trail of the murderer known only as 'Iceman', the polar opposite investigators struggle to coexist while confronting a sideshow of possible suspects across three states. With the Rangers closing in on the Holy Grail, Placey and Isis must find the 'Iceman' before he kills again and derails hockey history.
Pepitone found the inspiration for the tale from familiar questions posed to him many times throughout his twenty year law enforcement career. "People always ask cops about the craziest people they have ever met, and the funniest stories they have from the street. I decided to put them all together. Every character in the book is real, only the names have been changed to protect the insane."
"An unbelievably great read." said former New York Ranger and ten year National Hockey League veteran Chris Kotsopoulos. "Billy does a great job of combining murder/mystery with the greatest sport in the world-hockey!"
Ice Cold is available at Barnesandnoble.com, Amazon.com, Xlibris.com, and all major online retail sites.
