NYC Web Fest Winners Announced

'The Feels' wins Best Web Series and a $1,000 Cash Prize from New Streaming Company PopChest

Lauren Atkins and Sherrod Small

Digital film enthusiasts, creators and actors from New York and around the world gathered at the NYC Web Fest this week to share their work at the country’s premier web series and digital entertainment event. The weekend culminated in a stylish award ceremony and party on Saturday night where the best of the web was recognized.

According to founder and festival director Lauren Atkins, this year saw record numbers of submissions and attendees at NYC’s premier web series event. “I am incredibly proud that we had such high-quality productions from around the world participate in our fourth annual Web Fest. Our theater was packed every day because audiences are becoming more discerning about their entertainment. Audiences of web series are growing rapidly because people want to see stories that really matter to them. This year we held panel discussions highlighting both Female and International Creators."

“The quality of productions this year was very high and it speaks to a maturing of the web series industry. Writers, producers, actors and the entire value chain are producing work which rivals content on the major networks."

The highly respected jury panel was committed to a robust adjudication process and was uncompromising about high standards. This year’s jury panel included Natasha S. Alford, Ashley C. Forde, Austen Jaye, Neil Mossberg, Arda Ocal, Drew Phillips, Sherrod Small, Liz Spaulding and Sasha Stone.
