Gellman has directed some of the biggest-named actors in entertainment including, Chris Farley, Steven Colbert and Tina Fey. He has also taught at universities, acting centers, and festivals throughout the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Rome and Paris.

Gellman is coming to New York for a rare acting workshop series that is sponsored by the not-for-profit, New York based theatre company, Artistic New Directions.

"These workshops will give all aspiring and professional actors an opportunity to learn directly from one of our industry's greatest creative talents," said Scotty Watson, who is Head of Artistic New Directions’ New York Faculty. "Students will improve their overall delivery and communications skills that can advance their performance levels."

Gellman’s workshops will cover introductory and advanced acting and improvisational techniques for both long scenic pieces and one-act plays.

The first course offered is an introductory workshop on improvisational techniques designed for inexperienced actors and improvisers. Gellman will reveal his fundamental improvisational techniques, and the course will act as a prerequisite for more advanced workshops.

Students who have completed this introductory workshop can participate in a two-day program that includes workshops specialized for long form performance.

Participants of this course are required to provide a copy of their resume and headshots for enrollment.

There are still a few seats remaining. Sign ups and more information on these workshops can be found at www.artisticnewdirections.org.
