NWA Oncologist Coauthored Research to Be Presented at European Cancer Congress

Arkansas Oncologist Collaborated On Research Of Targeted Breast Cancer Treatment

Dr. J Thaddeus Beck, of Highlands Oncology Group (HOG), Northwest Arkansas’ premier cancer treatment facility, coauthored research which will be presented at the European Cancer Congress, which will be from September 25 to September 29 in Vienna. 

The research, entitled “Development and Clinical Application of a Gene Expression Signature That Enriches for Response to LCL161, an Antagonist of Inhibitor of Apoptosis Proteins, in Patients With Triple-negative Breast Cancer,” focuses on a targeted treatment option for specific breast cancers.

About 231,840 new cases of invasive breast cancer will be diagnosed in women in the United States in 2015, according to American Cancer Society estimates.

The European Cancer Congress (ECC) is a biennial congress which combines the efforts of the most important European oncology professionals with the aim of improving the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and care of cancer patients, according to the ECC website.
