Sean T. Keith, founding member of Northwest Arkansas law firm Keith, Miller, Butler, Schneider & Pawlik (K.M.B.S.P.), with locations in Rogers and Fayetteville, recently met with a close, national coalition of concerned attorneys to discuss the pervasive issues affecting their clients. Keith practices throughout the country but is particularly concerned with the issues affecting clients in Northwest Arkansas and met with the group, in part, to remain apprised of matters impacting the lives of Arkansans.

“I was pleased to be part of this group of men and women who could spend a full day trading ideas, experiences and lessons on a variety of cases,” said Keith. “I came out of this more aware of issues that are affecting our neighbors and community.”

One of the most important lessons learned was the reminder that there continues to be people injured by Takata airbags, with approximately 30 million still outstanding recall.

“I plan on getting more information out to our community in the next few weeks on the continuing danger of these airbags,” said Keith.

Of the other topics discussed were issues, including: sexual harassment and the #metoo movement, the dangers of self driving cars and autonomous braking, on-the-job injuries, commercial flooring cases, negligent security, tractor-trailer cases, nursing home injuries, ignition switch failure, single vehicle collisions, high viscosity bone cement failure and talcum powder.

“The takeaway for me was that people are continuing to be injured by products that we have known are unsafe for several years including the talcum powder cases,” said Keith. “The scientific evidence showing the connection between talc and cancer is only getting stronger.”

Keith focuses his practice on personal injury cases, including: catastrophic injuries, wrongful death, prescription drug and medical device litigation. He is a past Chairman of the Arkansas Bar Association Board of Governors and was recognized by the Arkansas Bar Association with the C.E. Ransick Award of Excellence.
