Retrieve Technologies software allows people to find specific information within a video on a mobile device or desktop in a way that’s organized and convenient. The SaaS platform transcribes every spoken word in video content so it’s easily accessed. This indexing, along with cloud-based delivery, brings video communication to a new level, according to company leaders. The software also provides custom video management for businesses and agencies. The company points to cognitive science research that shows people can’t recall 90% of what they heard in a presentation one week later. Company President Jude McColgan says Retrieve Technologies is answering the public’s demand for video. “Sixty percent of mobile data traffic is video. Consumers love video content but businesses are flat-footed on mobile consumer trends and don’t have video information for employees, customers and partners. And when they do, controlling distribution is an issue. We allow businesses to share information with different users. Our platform can administer distinct versions of that video content, and control who gets it, when, and for how long. And we have the analytics to track it. We can also notify people when updates are made and certify whether employees or customers understand the content.”
McColgan says another aspect of the company’s technology is its knowledge applications or k-Apps. Retrieve Technologies hires world class experts in a variety of fields who share their expertise on-camera. Those apps can be downloaded from Retrieve’s digital library and accessed at any time for a nominal fee. The US Department of Agriculture saved $1.4 million after contracting with Retrieve Technologies to provide digital training for 1,500 employees in 30 different locations. By using Retrieve Technologies software solution the USDA was able to avoid hiring multiple training specialists to travel around the country or have to fly their employees to one location for the three week training session.

Retrieve Technologies is a privately owned company that recently raised ten million in venture capital. The company has hired 30 new employees and is expected to bring on another 30 people in the next six months. In December the company will move into new headquarters in Manchester that will include a state-of-the-art video studio.
Dave Arnold previously founded Softdesk, which became the largest PC based Architecture Engineering and Construction software company, and was later acquired by Autodesk. Arnold is a longtime resident of Henniker, NH. Jude McColgan is a former executive with Oracle and TomTom, who lives in New London.
