Newport Folk's 51st Festival to Be Broadcast to Global Audience
Online, July 22, 2010 (Newswire.com) - In an special broadcast arrangement with the celebrated music festival and a co-partnering arrangement with NPR Music, mvyradio is scheduled to deliver many of the performances from the festival's three stages, all accessible through the internet at www.mvyradio.com, both in live stream and downloadable podcast formats.
Festival coordinators previously announced an extraordinary talent roster for Newport Folk 2010, including John Prine, The Low Anthem, The Swell Season, Brandi Carlile, Levon Helm's Ramble on the Road, Yim Yames (Jim James of My Morning Jacket), Steve Martin and The Steep Canyon Rangers, Andrew Bird, The Avett Brothers, Doc Watson & David Holt, Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros, The Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Sharon Jones & the Dap Kings, Calexico, Blitzen Trapper, Richie Havens, Sam Bush, and world music sensation Nneka.
This is mvyradio's fifth year of broadcasting performances from Newport Folk - a history that includes memorable shows from the Allman Brothers, David Gray, the Neville Brothers, Rosanne Cash, Arlo Guthrie, and many others.
