NewOrg Helps Kesher Families Manage Data of Families With an LGBTQ+ Member, Group Sessions, Individual Sessions, and More
Kesher is a non-profit organization that helps families stay connected to each other - parent to child, sibling to sibling, and grandparent to grandchild - by providing support and guidance for family members of individuals who identify as LGBTQ+ in the Orthodox Jewish community.
WASHINGTON, November 15, 2023 (Newswire.com) - Kesher Families works with families and various Orthodox communities and their leaders across the United States and in other countries, as well as with schools, rabbinic leaders, and organizations, to provide education and support. Kesher Families was created to fulfill a need to support the unique circumstance of having an LGBTQ+ member in an Orthodox family. The non-profit was inspired by the many families who contacted the Penner family seeking a safe, warm, and compassionate space where they could openly discuss their experiences, conflicts, and emotions. Kesher Families was founded to create a future where LGBTQ+ family members can stay a valued part of families and communities and retain their connection to their religious tradition and their faith. By connecting parents with other parents who have or are currently going through the same experience, Kesher Families helps build a community of understanding and empathy to strengthen bonds with families and communities.
As they continue to expand their programs, Kesher sought an all-in-one data management system to streamline their workflow and improve access to services and resources. Previously, important data regarding clients was stored in a secure but non-searchable digital file.
