Newcomer Trio Entertainment Greenlights First Feature; 'A Killing Kind'

"A Killing Kind" is adapted from author Chris Loken's highly acclaimed novel, "The Boy Next Door," "A Killing Kind" is an incisive delve into the psychosexual serial killer phenomenon. It unfolds as a riveting suspense story; part compelling police procedural, part haunting portrait of the mind of a serial killer. Inspired by true events, the story begins in 1979 on a chilling New Years Eve in midwest America.

The film plans to start principal photography beginning late fall/early winter 2018 in Waupaca County, Wisconsin and Canada. For Trio, Kristanna Loken and Nik Palchikoff are set to produce, and negotiations are currently underway with cast and crew. The film is expected to be released in the Spring of 2020.

Founded in 2017, Trio Entertainment is headed by Kristanna Loken and brings together an experienced team. Loken, of “Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines” and the Showtime hit “The L Word” fame is CEO. Joining her is CCO Jimmy Palmiotti, a multi-award-winning character creator for Marvel and Warner Bros, Chairman Jonathan Bates, a successful Wall Street Investment Banker, VP of Production, Nik Palchikoff, returning to production after developing a second career in finance, and CFO Philip Fier who previously was Senior Vice President of Business Development at Sony Pictures Entertainment, and VP and CFO of 20th Century Fox International. Trio plans to become a market leading independent Film Studio, distributor, and full-service production company. The studio is currently in various stages of development on a handful of other projects, and more announcements are expected to be released soon.
