New York Women's Athletic League (NYWAL) Creates Flag Football League Exclusively for Women Ages 18 and Up

The New York Women's Athletic League (NYWAL) is a sports league for women over the age of 18 and is built for women by women. The core sport of this league will be flag football. However, our goal is to offer other sports as the league grows.

New York City - In a city of more than eight million residents, there are no sports leagues that cater exclusively to women athletes. The New York Women's Athletic League (NYWAL) was founded on August 4, 2010 as an organization that seeks to promote the positive social and athletic enjoyment of Women's Teams Sports. Through our league, we seek to foster the development of community cohesion and cooperation through the fundamental principles of fellowship, sportsWomynship and athleticism. NYWAL was created to provide a place where women athletes of all orientations and skill level can come to display their love and appreciation for competitive sports. The core sport of this league will be flag football. However, our goal is to offer other sports (i.e. basketball, softball and tennis) as the league continues to grow.

The New York Women's Athletic League (NYWAL) is a league for women over the age of 18 and is built for women by women. To that end, we endeavor to provide a stable league and environment where all women feel welcome to display their love of sports. We are confident that we can build something truly special and with the support of the New York Community, we will be successful.

The 2010 Women's Fall Flag Football season will kick off on Saturday, September 25, 2010. For our inaugural year, we are partnering with Aviator Sports and Events Center to provide a world-class playing experience. After weeks of planning, we are excited to finally get the proverbial ball rolling. The registration fee is $50 until 9/11/10 ($60 after).
