New York Times Bestselling Author Goes Digital
Online, December 28, 2014 (Newswire.com) - Charleston, South Carolina: Award-winning New York Times bestselling author Charlotte Hughes has given Amazon™ exclusive digital rights to her first independently published e-book, See Bride Run!
Ms. Hughes is best known for a string of successful collaborations with Janet Evanovich, (the Full House series), and her own Crazy series published by Berkley/Jove. The author, known for her outrageous sense of humor, wrote almost thirty romantic comedies for Bantam Books’ Loveswept line, before it was discontinued in the late 90s. “These books,” she remarked, “are being lovingly updated, revised, and polished and will be re-released over the next couple of years.”
See Bride Run! features Atlanta billionaire heiress Annie Hartford who will do anything to get out of marrying a man she does not love. With only minutes before she is to walk down the aisle in front of 600 wedding guests, Annie hijacks the family limo, only to have it break down on her 200 miles later in small town Pinckney, Georgia. She suddenly finds herself homeless, penniless, and wearing only the clothes on her back—a designer wedding gown and diamond tiara.
Hughes, like most authors, prefers print books, but she has come to appreciate the practical advantages of going digital. What surprised her as an author is the greater independence. “I can choose my own cover, set my own price, write what I like, and come to market much sooner,” she noted.
Ms. Hughes is presently working on a new series, set in South Carolina’s Lowcountry.
