New York Contemporary Portrait Artist Available For Commissions

A classically-trained portrait artist, Alger’s work rests at the intersection of abstraction and realism. Alger's work of the last five years has been particularly inspired by the colors associated with each of the body's seven chakras according to the Indian chakra system. Alger uses these colors, instead of light, to guide her in creating forms that are free flowing, spontaneous, and guided by her own intuition as she builds on the piece of art each day. This allows her to create creative pieces that incorporate the ideas of balance, self-knowledge, and healing.
