Embers Out Announces New Vents to Protect Structures From Devastating Wildfires

California Approved And Listed Fire Prevention Vent

According to fire protection experts, flames do not spread wildfires—EMBERS do.  Many people do not realize that once embers penetrate a structure, firefighters are trained to contain the blaze as opposed to risking their lives to save the structure.  Embers penetrate attic or “gable” vents and the structure burns from the inside out.

Embers Out LLC is pleased to announce its California certified and newly listed fire and water damage prevention gable (attic) vents.  Proven to help safeguard residential and commercial properties, the newly designed Embers Out “Elite” vent protects structures from fire embers, wind-driven-rain, dust and debris, bees, wasps and other animals that enter the attic through the vent, while meeting the standards for Net Free Ventilation Area (NFVA).

In June 2016, the ASTM Fire Standards Committee approved new, strict standards for testing ember and direct flame impingement (penetration) of exterior vents: ASTM E2886/E2886M-14 Standard Test Method for Evaluating the Ability of Exterior Vents to Resist the Entry of Embers and Direct Flame Impingement. Embers Out “Elite” vent passed these stringent testing standards with no flame impingement, hence blocking 100% of the embers.

Wildfires occur suddenly and without warning.  They devastate communities by claiming lives, and causing thousands or even millions of dollars in damage. During a wildfire, structures are at greatest risk not from direct flames, but from “ember attack” (which occurs when many embers are carried by winds in a cluster).  Embers Out newly released technology will help decrease and/or completely eliminate the devastation caused by fire or natural elements thereby reducing property loss and save lives.

The Embers Out “Elite” vent is patent-pending and currently available for purchase.  The vents come in multiple sizes in two designs for both existing structures and new construction.
