New Unique Social Media Website Focuses On Sports Trash Talk Entertainment - Rivalry Rage, Inc.

The launch of Rivalry Rage (http://www.rivalryrage.com) brings a unique social media focus to the World Wide Web - Sports Smack Talk. The Rivalry Rage team decided there was a niche opportunity in the social media world to create a site designed specifically for sports fans and provide them with an interactive location to talk trash. Unlike other social network sites, Rivalry Rage strictly focuses on the sports fanatics around the world. "My goal was to create a social media website focused solely on sports. Passionate sports fans love talking trash in support of their favorite team or in defense of their team against their biggest rivals. Personally, I don't care if someone lists their status on another site as 'doing laundry' or 'heading to bed,' but talk a little sports smack and I'm interested!" said Tim Jones, Founder and CEO of Rivalry Rage, Inc.

Rivalry Rage has a global plan. All major U.S. sports leagues exist on the site, as well as most Soccer/Futbol leagues in Europe, South America, Central America, and Asia. When asking Tim what expertise the Rivalry Rage team has that ensures success in the social media area, he replied, "When we started the planning process nearly two years ago, we had zero experience in the social media world. We have years of business experience in the Defense Industry (Tim is a retired naval officer) and we have a growing Defense Contracting Engineering Company (ISSAC Corp), but as far as social media is concerned, we started at ground zero and are learning this industry as we go." The Rivalry Rage team is working hard to apply new found knowledge and promote the site. They publish weekly Rivalry Rage News reports, create weekly videos of the upcoming key match ups, narrated by either 'The Smack Pack' or 'Dr. Smack' (the primary faces and voices of Rivalry Rage), and provide a venue for sports fans to upload pictures and videos and interact on a blog-type setting. Tim stated, "We are trying to make this a content rich environment. We have created a few fun definitions for the 'Science of Smackology,' (http://www.rivalryrage.com/news/post/the_science_of_smackology_-_defined) and we are starting to run contests for merchandise and sporting event tickets, and we're excited about seeing more sports fan generated content and interaction as we grow."

Though this team has limited history in social media, this site appears to be poised for success. Tim has created a blog, Rivalry Rage - The Journey (http://www.rr-thejourney.blogspot.com), where he's blogging about the steps the team takes to make this venture a success. Tim's documenting the journey for historical value as well as to enable other entrepreneurs to learn from his lessons - both good and bad.
