A new study performed by wedding industry analysts details popular elements in North American weddings planned for the winter of 2010 and 2011.

The study is based off of research found in industry journals, wedding planning websites, and surveys conducted with professional wedding planners. According to industry analyst Betsy Rogers "The winter wedding season has long been considered different than the other seasons. What we have found with this new study though is that couples do many of the same things for winter weddings."

Several factors in this study were analyzed. The major trends detailed involved the style of wedding dress that the bride will wear, what kind of bridal accessories the bride will have, floral arrangements the couples chooses, and what kind and flavor of wedding cake chosen.

"We are seeing the classic romantic and flowing wedding dress remain popular. Brides are still choosing floor length dresses, even in cooler temperatures. They are also choosing overlay fabrics like chiffon, lace, and tulle," explains Rogers.

Other trends that Rogers detailed in the study include the various modes of transportation couples use to get to the alter, charm and jewelry choices, and destination weddings.

"Another popular trend we found is the use of wedding bouquet jewelry for the bride. Some brides opted for simple remembrances of late family members, while others incorporated crystals and gemstones," says Rogers.

The study will soon be published in wedding industry magazines and online.
