New Social Media Site for Kid Dreamers Grants It's First $1,000 Award.

Zephyrhills, FL, April 15, 2016 (Newswire.com) - ​Daisy Button Believes, a philanthropic networking site for kids ages 8-12, recently issued its first $1000 grant to a kid making a big difference in the world. The grant went to Brooke Thomas of the Thomas Promise Foundation based out Zephyrhills, FL. She started the Thomas Promise Foundation in 2012 when she was just 7 years old in order to help feed the hungry kids in her school. She began making backpacks full of food for them to take home. Her compassion and motivation was quickly met with support from her family, friends and community. Her backpacks now nourish 1,000 kids a week at 20 schools in her county.  “Brooke is both excited and honored to be the first winner.  This money is going to help her add additional students to her program and she hopes her story will inspire other children to help make a difference in someone else's life.” said Dianna Thomas, Brookes Mom.  

Daisy Button Believes connected with Thomas after the launch of their social networking website in February this year. The sites mission is to encourage kids to “dream big” with charitable projects in their community. It does so in a way that no other site has been able to. It helps them easily find the tools they need to be taken seriously with their projects, PLUS the funding they need and the encouragement of others. Tracey Serebin, a children’s author and the founder of DaisyButtonBelieves.com was inspired to create the site after working with schools in New Jersey through her online curriculum based off a series of entrepreneurial books she wrote called Daisy Button Adventures.  After going through a personal crisis, Tracey decided the time was now. She wanted to get these tools into the hands of kids directly! I realized there was no central location that kids could learn from each other, find the resources they needed to take their ideas to the next level, and get feedback from other kids who had succeeded in a big way. I also wanted to expose them to adult role models that have created successful platforms and used their money and position for good.”  Serebin said.

With the help of successful entrepreneurs, Serebin began working on something that’s never been done before – a social site for tweens starting new philanthropic projects and businesses.  “It’s like a LinkedIn for kids.” according to Hardin. “Easy, free, encouraging, resources at their fingertips! No more excuses for them to quit.” she added. The site combines direct access to successful kid CEO’s and start up experts with $1000 grants and the much needed social aspect this generation thrives on. Serebin feels passionately that “We have a responsibility to create tools our youth can use to continue to do good in the world.” Her hope is that “Any kid with the motivation to do something that cares for another human should be able to easily find what they need to succeed.” She promises it to be a success.

Although the $1,000 grant requirements are for a service project or charity (501c3) already established, the site also offers funding opportunities for those just starting out and access is FREE to all kids at any stage of their dream machine.
