There are thousands of new law graduates each year. Yet, surveys suggest that less lawyers are satisfied with their careers each year. According to a recent poll taken by the American Bar Association, over 51% of lawyers would rather leave the practice of law someday.
There are various reasons for this unusually large percentage. Still, the fact remains that lawyers face incredible amounts of stress and extraordinary demands from society, clients, and the profession itself. While many attorneys are struggling to get a handle on the situation, one is taking a completely new approach to this growing problem. Her name is Sonia Gallagher.
In addition to being an attorney, Sonia Gallagher is a Certified Life Coach. Her company, Time for Life, LLC has developed a new program called the Success Roundtable Program for Lawyers. The program blends training, mentorship, and group coaching into a unique mix. Unlike traditional group coaching, this program brings together an impressive list of industry specialists that Time for Life refers to as their Success Roundtable Circle of Experts.
According to Gallagher, "It's sort of like having your own Board of Directors." There is a short Bio of all the members available on the company's website, but a quick scan reveals words like Harvard law graduates, best-selling authors, and Presidents of this and that.
Gallagher refers to this program as the way of the future. "Attorneys need business and marketing skills, but they just don't have the time. We use web conferencing to bring the best and the brightest to them in their home or office and we set it up in a group size that's affordable. We even provide coaching to follow up and make sure the training is properly implemented. This is powerful stuff!"
Gallagher, who runs Time for Life, LLC in Boca Raton, refers to the negative public perception of lawyers and the lawyer dissatisfaction rates and emphasizes the importance of mindfulness, work life balance, and stress management. She indicates "When you work with clients from a place of balance, you become much more productive with your time, a more effective advocate, and a more compassionate human being."
Time for Life, LLC bridges the practical with the instinctive to help lawyers get more clients, more profits, and more free time through executive coaching, step by step implementation, and accountability. They guide lawyers to find their optimal level of balance and to implement changes that enable them to have more free time, to get more done, and to communicate with clients more effectively.
